good luck on your field service with the CO!
I remember when I was well onto my 'fade' I was picked to read the Days Text because I was an excellent reader (his words not mine).
He then picked on me to work with him.
We got chatting about Jersey and Guernsey, the Channel Islands which come under the jurisdiction of the London branch. I told him I regularly go there on business but he was soooo not interested! All he kept on about was how nice it was to see the brothers and what a lovely Kingdum Hell they had. He was not interested in me, my job or anything.
Anyway i remember that in the hour (it seemed like a day!) we worked together i placed some mags and he didn't - in fact contrary to what I expected he was pretty useless on field service.
A couple of years later he got removed from his position for alcoholsim!!! -

'What-A Coincidence' - My alias 'South African Beef' is a family in-joke and would take ages to explain and is not even very funny!
A few that knew me may guess who I am but I doubt it.
Anyway why all the Allah references? -

Hi Catherine nice to welcome you to this discussion board.
My alias may lead you to think that I live in South Africa but that isn't true.
I was born there in 1961 but my parents returned to England a year later.
I visited South Africa in 2002 for my honeymoon with my second wife (alias 'Bubble').
We stayed in Kruger National park for a week then spent 10 days in Cape Town staying at the 5 star Table Bay Hotel mostly but we also stayed at The Nelson for a couple of nights.
You have a beautiful country there and if we can afford it we would love to retire to the Cape Town area one day.
Anyway as I said, it's nice to have you on board.
All the best,

I was 3rd generation.
1st generation (my grandmother) was rather week in d troof, 2nd gen (my mum and dad) are the strongest most dedicated most gullible witnesses ever who take everything to extremes (no naughty tv programs, never visited a pub - why would we want to join worldly people and drink alcohol with them?, would rather go to prison than be on a jury!!! etc etc), 3rd generation (my brother) as strong and mad as them, and then there was the little brother me - bought up in d troof, baptised at 18, ministerial servant for ages, gave public talks, group study etc etc - now totally free of it all and loving and I mean REALLY LOVING every minute of it.
Just wish I wasn't hoodwinked for the first 40 years of my life. Wish i left in the '70s. I would have had so much fun. -

Better off Poor in UK than Rich in US!
by Seeker4 innational public radio this morning had a story about a study of middle-aged (55-64 yo) whites in the uk compred to the us.
they were shocked at the results.
the study was done to try to find out the effects of poverty on health , which is why they just studied whites, to eliminate the effects of race.

I notice on my trips to the US that they are either obssessed with being super-fit or just seem to have given up and are grossly overweight. Unfortunately the latter seems to apply to most Americans.
In the UK most people don't go to excess in anything - oh except the drinking and fighting friday/saturday culture found in every town and city in the country.
Also when following our football teams in Europe the English really go to town and have to drink and drink and drink like no one else in the world and they have to insult everyone.
I think that is partly caused by our inner believe that we are still a world power and that Brittania rules the waves.
Just realised that I'm going off the thread a bit - better shut up now! -

Do you not see, Do you not hear, Are you asleep?
by jw ino timothy, guard what is laid up in trust with you, turning away from the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from the contradictions of the falsely called knowledge.
21 for making a show of such [knowledge] some have deviated from the faith.

interesting that you mentioned the Daily Mail.
I remember one self righteous Elder we had always used to quote from that paper, usually on some article on 'morals' or teenage pregnancies or something along those lines. Didn't he realise that as a part of big business the newspaper must be under satans control and he really should not be using it to support his own views?
